Simple Pleasures

Barefoot Princess, LP, Munchkinetta + Buby all obsessed with a tiny train around a tree. Simple pleasures are the best kind, aren't they? Buby and I really look forward to the happy chaos that is our standing twice-a-month playdate. These 4 friends have done A LOT of growing up together, as silly as that sounds at their age. But they do more than eat + play and eat + play on these fantastical Friday mornings. It's an opportunity for them to put into practice basics that we work on at home. Regular playdates really test their patience, flexibility, sensitivities, and self control. Of course, there are always small fires to put out with a group as passionate as this one. But today brought many impressive exchanges. Sweet sweet moments. Bonding. Team efforts. And most important, laughter. Laughter trumps all else. Thank you to Allison for letting us do a number on your clean house. Which looks beautiful at holiday time, by the way. Us moms swapped cookies today, and I came home with the most YUM YUM assortment. As we pulled out of the driveway, Buby yelled "BYE FRIENDS" from his car seat. I almost cried.
