Sunday Drive

Our Sunday drive this week was to see the World's Second Largest Garden Gnome. His name is Chomsky, and he used to be the largest but recently lost the Guinness title to a 15-footer in Iowa.

I first heard of the ginormous sculpture a few days ago as I ran in and out of local stores searching for the perfect 2"-3" gnome figurine to surprise Buby for Easter. {The gnome, who we haven't even purchased yet, is named Lopus True.}. That's when a sweet lady stopped me and told me about Chomsky. Isn't he a cutie? Those rosy cheeks!

We loaded the littles into the car without telling them where we were going. I love surprises like this!
We arrived and stood back in awe, hugged his legs, and told him we'd be back for veggies and mini golf when it warms up. Next we stopped for lunch at an old-fashion country BBQ joint My Sweets raves about. It's not far from Chomsky, and the chicken and pulled pork is out of this world.

I thought it was odd that Buby ordered a hot dog from a restaurant {gross!}, and then halfway through our meal he reminded us that he gave up meat. "I'm a vegetarian now, ya know." My Sweets had to break it to him that a hot dog is meat. {Well, sort of.... ha.}
