Major milestone. Bleu has reached 20 lbs, the max limit for her infant carrier, so we just moved her into the new convertible seat. I will really miss our carrier days. For 8 months I was able to run errands while she snoozed, quick lift her out of the car and into the stroller without waking her, and safely set her down next to me in restaurants, doctor's office, and PTO meetings. It was bicep-building, but so convenient.
Now that Bleu's in a convertible seat I suspect her much-needed morning naps are a thing of the past. Buby's school + swim schedule keeps us on the go during her natural nap time every day but Thursday. Until last week she was pretty much unaffected by our hectic schedule. Now she dozes off moments before we arrive places, and we have to wake her up. She doesn't transfer. Poor, tired Bleu.
That said, we are IN LOVE with new convertible. We went with the Britax Boulevard {above}. It accommodates rear-facing babies 5 lbs to 35 lbs and forward-facing babies from 20 lbs and a year up to 65 lbs. Read about side-impact protection and other Britax safety features here. Buby's seat is the Britax Regent {below}. He's been in it for over a year, and I still rave about it to anyone who asks. It harnesses up to 80 lbs, the highest harness weight capacity on the market today.

I only know the Britax Marathon and love it. So I'm sure your Britax models are just as great. We bought an extra cover on ebay (I think) for our trips to the beach. I keep one clean cover (wash in our machine, no dryer) in a big ziploc bag when we go on vacation. We've had to switch it out when we've packed her into the car straight from the beach (wet tush) and leaving to drive home. That's how we tend to do it...poor planning but at least we have a dry car seat. Oh, and I checked to see when G reached 20 lbs...her 18 month checkup.

Wow, I can't believe how big she is Ana Maria just barely reached 20 pounds...but it's due to all the walking around...she just got her new carseat just before we left on vacation! I can't believe Blue reached 20lbs before our 1 year old :)
I'm glad you like the new seat! We LOVE our Boulevard. LP has always slept really well in it, the headwings make perfect pillows. I think I'm finally going to have to turn LP's around this week, I hope that Bleu is able to get a lot of rear-facing use out of hers too.
Wow I cannot believe Bleu is twenty pounds. She looks so long and lean I would not think she is twenty pounds yet. We have been so happy with Britax too. Good Luck with the new seat.
