What's Up, Sad Face?

Buby and LP all serious at their preschool Thanksgiving party today. I think it's because Miss Sherri instituted assigned seating for the first time ever and put Buby and his blue-eyed princess at separated tables. They ALWAYS eat snack together. Side by side. Buby even likes to feed LP. That said, he was a trooper. Climbed into his chair and just sat there quietly waiting for his food. With this SAD SAD face that broke my heart. LP was a little less affected by the new seating arrangement. At one point, Buby turned all the way around in his chair and just stared at LP and her "new" friends at the other table. Jack's mom said, "Want me to move Jack... so these two can sit together?" I said, "No, maybe it's good they don't once in a while." After their ginormous meals of banana bread, fruit, chicken, mac & cheese, pumpkin bread, corn muffins, and even itty bitty cupcakes for Mackenzie's birthday.... Buby ran up to Jack to offer a toy car. He said, "HERE YOU GO, JACK." It was an offer of friendship. Jack had no interest at that moment. Then Buby proceeded to offer Alexander some super cool boy toy. He was so sweet about it. It was a big day for Buby. I think he realized LP won't always be there and he has to be his own man. But Mama doesn't want to see this face again, so PLEASE PLEASE LP sit next to us next week. Thanks.

Kids can be so cruel. Jack will be begging for Buby's friendship when they get older. His face is sooooo sad - tell him we love him and will see him tomorrow.

LP has been talking about Buby all morning, so I think she definitely didn't spend enough time with him yesterday. She has been telling me that Buby is coming to play at our house since 7:30 this morning. We will be sure to sit with Buby for snack next week.
