One thing Buby did get from me is his obsession with rocks. If he's not collecting, skipping, or stuffing them into his pockets, he's almost certainly sitting on one. I spent so much of my own childhood sitting in the gravel part of our driveway sorting through rocks. I've collected rocks in Spain, France, Ireland, Canada, Arizona, Mexico, Texas, Florida, New England, etc. etc. On every hiking, fishing, beach, or camping trip, My Sweets knows I'll be stuffing his pockets, too. Just recently Buby has started to do the same, all on his own. It must be genetic. Buckets of rocks everywhere.
Buby is trying to understand why he can skip rocks on water but not on land.
I know, it's just so not fair!

Where do you keep all of your rocks? One special place? Jars around the house? I know someone who keeps sand in bottles, each bottle represents a different location.
In vases. In galvanized tins buckets. In bowls. In our washing machine... too often. I never separated and labeled by location on purpose. When I was younger, I didn't think it was fair for driveway gravel to feel any less special than Mediterranean beach rocks from Spain. So I mixed them all together so they had equal importance. I sort of know them apart. But I wish I had kept some sort of master list now... I can't remember half the places I've been.
