Happy Birthday, Jazzy

Our dog JAZZY turns 10 years old today. Her full name is Jasmine Starr {I know, I know. Jasmine is Tom's fault, Starr is mine}, but we've all called her Jazzy since day 1. Jazzy has been a big part of our little family since she was about 7 weeks old. She's a native of New Mexico and had at least five brothers and sisters by the time we adopted her in Arizona. Jazzy was our baby for 8 long years; she trekked cross-country in our tiny truck with us, hiked the Grand Cayon, endured many a rainy camping trip, and even got around on the motorcycle as a puppy, tucked inside a backpack strapped to the front of me. She has adjusted well from Western dog to big city dog to country dog. This Spitz/Chin mix has seen it all, let me tell you.
And then one day Buby was born. We didn't mean for it to happen, but our human baby pulled rank. Jazzy suddenly had to learn to share us... with a dashing little blond dude with blue eyes no less. I think she liked Buby when he was a baby and didn't move or speak. Then he started crawling and made her nervous. Very nervous. And now... well, now Buby's a toddler. A few of his purest pleasures in life include touching her eyelashes with his fingertips, playing with her toys knowing she is not allowed to play with his, sitting in her bed just to make her growl, dropping her dry food into her water bowl one-by-one, and throwing cheese crumbles at her head during lunch. That said, I think Buby genuinely loves his doggy. As for her, she is a good sport... considering.
