For the Boy's Boy
Buby and I gifted Daddy with this book for Father's Day. I read lots of press about it when it was released, saw a few interviews with the authors. But it wasn't until the book arrived from Amazon that I fully understood its appeal. The Dangerous Book for Boys by Hal and Conn Iggulden (two brothers) is an instant classic and something to behold. The thick cloth hardcover tome is beautifully put together. Though this journey into timeless boyhood rituals is intended for "boys from eight to eighty," it's really a sweet gift for any man who has a son. Even one as little as Buby. Inside is jam-packed with how-to and information on All Things Boy, rugged, outdoors, and nostalgic (for the boy within the man). Buby's dad was delighted to open it, hadn't seen it before, and is now plotting out all the insanely cool experiences in their future. This is a reference boys can use year-round or take out every summer as inspiration for weekend adventures with dad.

Jon just gave his nephew this book over the weekend. How funny! I picked up a few copies and I'm giving one away later this week. I've heard there is a girl-version, though I don't know anything about it.
