Share & Share Alike

It appears Buby REALLY has to work on sharing toys on his own turf. The boy is quite dandy when we go to other kids' domains, but here in Buby Land... it's MINE MINE MINE! Luckily, we take turns hosting so that the fine caveat of sharing ones prized possessions can be practiced regularly.

First Gavin was upset with Gillian for bringing pretzel goldfish (his fave). How dare she. He stole those from her, of course. Then he was upset with Lillian for taking his Thomas the Train drum (oops! should have hidden that), and then Grace had the nerve to hug his LULU! Oh no! Not LULU. But his attention was quickly diverted back to Lillian, who had the gall to prance around in Mama's slippers. Tap tap tap. Very cute standing in front of the oven admiring her reflection. Here comes Gillian holding Gavin's basket of plastic eggs. Who ever knew he felt so strongly about eggs.

There were a lot of tears shed at this playdate, and we're not talking tears of joy. But in the end, Buby was happy again. He never minded sharing his toys before, but it seems we're embarking on a new era of toddlerhood. New challenges. Oh yeah. New rewards, surely.

And today Buby is cutting a new tooth to boot... not to make excuses. It's leaving him a bit more crankers than his usual go-lucky self. Should be an interesting weekend with his younger cousin coming to touch all of his toys!! Thanks to the gals for being good sports. TGIGF.

We all had a wonderful time at the playdate. It was good for Gavin to stand up to Lillian, and they all have their favorite toys they don't want to share. Thanks for the cupcake, it was my birthday cake this year!
