It's a Beautiful Day

Maybe not outside, but always here in Buby Land. Happy 19-month Birthday Bub! I'm such a lucky chick to be a WAHM (work-at-home mom) and spend so much of the day running after my little guy. I seem to swear "this is the best age" at every stage, yet it keeps getting more delicious with time. When the day is done, it's done. And there's no getting it back. So I'm reminded not to over stress about work, house, and the like... but to cherish every millisecond with Little Dude before he's not so little anymore.

Here are Buby's Simplest Pleasures at 19 months:

  • Shooting hoops (in the playroom, driveway, tub, AND gym)
  • The Beatles 'Greatest Hits'
  • Flushing the toilet for no reason and clapping
  • Eating lunch (fave meal)
  • Standing on the step stool brushing his teeth (sort of)
  • Washing his hands at the sink
  • Building a tower out of Megabloks and knocking it down
  • Walking around in Mama's & Papa's slippers
  • Climbing onto the dining chair and turning back to see if we noticed
  • Making monkey and elephant noises
  • Drinking from a straw
  • Blowing on his hot food
  • Dancing in circles with his hands in the air
  • Pouring water over his own head in the bathtub
  • Squeezing into Jazzy's dog nook and laying on her
  • Signing "hurt" so that Mama will take the Boo-Boo Buddy out of the fridge
  • Playing with Kiki's (babysitter) cell phone
  • Flashcard quizzes
  • Punching keys on Papa's laptop (sorry for the tech issues, Papa)
  • Revving up his imaginary motorcycle with sounds and hand motions
  • Letting go of Jazzy's leash and laughing as she makes a run for it
  • Spinning dizzy with Mama to "Snoozers" by The Bacon Brothers
  • Splashing in puddles after a rain
  • Wearing the blue boots
  • Throwing food for Jazzy to fetch (discouraging this one)
  • Giggling mischievously as Mama chases after him with a clean diaper
  • Climbing into the reading chair with his 'Look and Find' books
  • Pressing face to window chanting "Dada" as the garage door closes
  • Saying "Uh-oh" whenever he or Mama messes up
  • Painting with Lillian (and her brave mama)
  • Drumming in a one-man band
  • Ring Around the Rosie
  • Lounging on Papa while he plays the guitar before bed
  • Throwing his arms around Papa's neck (big hugger!)
  • Going sleepy with Lulu (stuffed French bulldog)
