The Name Game

Here's a fun exercise we did over breakfast. I bought four bags of foam letters for Buby to address his hand-painted bookmarks to his friends. I asked him how to spell each child's name thinking he'd give it his best guess and maybe sound out half.


I know he loves spelling, but I totally underestimated. He spelled all 13 names of the people in his classroom correctly, and quickly, plus his friend Grace downstairs. He was like "Seriously, Mom... Give me something harder."


Granted the kids spell their names at school, but still. He didn't miss a beat except for the "h" in Kathryn, which he went back and corrected when it didn't look right. Learning something new is so much fun. Watching your child do it is out-of-this-world cool.
