Global Dinner

Last week I had the honor of attending a Global Dinner hosted by My Sweet's company. The venue was Capitale in lower Manhattan, the dress was "global festive" or black tie, and the occasion was to celebrate the financial empowerment of low-income women in 27 countries on 5 continents.

I know what Tom does for work, but these events show me the bigger picture impact that it has on others. It's inspiring. As date nights go this was a goodie. I felt like Vivian Ward getting ready at Yale Club and then hopping in a taxi (hailed by someone else) to meet my guy downtown. When I ducked into the VIP room the lights were dim and a short film was playing. I saw my love looking at me from across the room... so handsome. Tom couldn't wait to introduce me to people, and I loved watching him in action. After the dinner we walked to an old Spring Street haunt with some friends.

The next morning at breakfast I ordered fresh berries, homemade whipped cream, and the flakiest croissant I ever tasted. On the train ride home I poured over the new issue of Domino and started to really miss my Bear Bear, who was at home with Grandma. As soon as I got back to the car I texted the below shot of my tired/happy face with the caption "Hi, Ollie!!" He was already napping.

Our next date night is a Masquerade Ball fundraiser/silent art auction hosted by our children's school. Followed by a sleepover at a castle ;) I can hardly wait.
