Random Notes: We are so in love with this lil' guy. It's only been a few hours, and already I cannot imagine our lives without him. His birth could not have gone any smoother, thank God. Less than 3 hours of labor and two small pushes and he was out. A spitting image of his big brother, if I do say so myself.
We are doing awesome. Scheduled to stay in the hospital until Wednesday, but we may try to bust out a day early. I miss my Buby and Bleu, who are at home with the grandmas. More pictures and details soon. Thank you all for your well wishes!!

This baby of ours will be born Monday morning, if not sooner.

We are hooked on the adventures of Jack and Annie around here. The only problem is that our village library only stocks bits + pieces of the series. There are huge gaps, and of course we prefer to read in order.
Let me know if any of you own the box sets and can let Buby borrow.
P.S. No baby yet. I'll keep you posted.
Ava, Ella and Bleu. These three met in gymnastics class last year. Watching them play reminds me a little of Buby and his gal pals at this age. Very cute.

Here comes T-R-O-U-B-L-E in Gilly's old John Deere four wheeler.

I can't believe he reaches the pedals. Buby has grown up so much this year.
Heart-shaped grounds left in my coffee mug.

Monday we celebrated our friend Gillian's 5th birthday. She had a horse-themed party--with real pony rides--at her home in the mountains. That's what Buby always says when we visit her... that Gilly lives "in the mountains." He loves it there.
Cowboy hats, alphabet necklaces, and Alana's homemade chocolate chip banana bread. What a fantastic way to spend Columbus Day. Not to mention pretty autumn views and the laughter and joy that comes with being surrounded by good friends. Unfortunately, I left my camera in the car for most of the party, so you'll have to use your imaginations.
Before heading home My Sweets wanted to test drive his old dirt bike, which he's been fixing up in his spare time, and our friends generously offered their parents' property not too far away. Tom got in his ride and then lead us on a wonderful little nature hike. We met two very nice horses, stuffed our pockets with pears {Buby's idea}, and picked up leaves and empty bee hives for show-and-tell at school. Oh, and how about that skull? Pretty wild. We left that there.
Thank you, guys, for the experience.
p.s. No baby yet. Obviously. On Wednesday the doctor said I was dilated the same as last Wednesday, about 1 1/2 cm and 70% effaced. No major changes. I could have the baby anytime between now and next week.
If I don't go into labor before next Wednesday's appointment the OB will schedule an induction. He says I'm a good candidate considering my history of super fast labor, and the fact that I live 50 minutes from the hospital, that Tom works in Manhattan, and that I tend to deliver big/healthy babies without complication.
They only do inductions Monday through Thursday though, so we're hoping to get on the schedule for Thursday the 21st. At the latest. Not that we're in a rush or anything... ha.

At five years he's 46 inches tall and 50 pounds. The doctor estimated an adult height of 6'2". So another 15 years and he'll actually be tall enough for this gown they threw him.
38 weeks.
Hello there. I'm still here. I haven't turned on a computer since I got my new smart phone. I can do everything from it... except blog.
Wednesday at my weekly checkup I was dilated 1 1/2 cm and 70% effaced. Thursday while driving to school I had a lot of early back labor and likely dilated another cm. We'll see. There's something about Thursdays and this baby. It's a recurring theme.
I knew it wasn't "time" though because this is what my body does. I feel pain and make progress and dilate early. Then a week or so later the hardcore contractions hit, I'm in instant active labor {no question about it}, and the baby comes fast.
My official due date isn't for two weeks, but I can tell that our sweet No. 3 is anxious to bust out. I feel it all. day. long. Way more than I did with the other two. I'd very much like to keep him/her on the inside though until the 16th when the first of two grandmas arrive. If not, we do have a backup plan. And if the baby should happen to hold out until the 20th the doctors will let me schedule an exact time for induction. Hurray! I'm thinking Thursday the 21st or Saturday morning the 23rd would be just dandy. I like odd numbers.
Our daily life has been business as usual. Late at night I prep for baby and clean house. The nesting is just little organizational projects here and there... nothing big. My fear this time around is going into labor without a fully stocked fridge, clean laundry and freshly vacuumed floors {Jazzy is shedding her summer coat--it's awful!}.
But honestly we're in pretty great shape. The nursery is done. Gender-neutral onesies are washed and hung. Newbie supplies are purchased. Emergency contacts are on standby. The freezer and pantry are full {fridge will be again tomorrow}. The hospital bag is in the car. My binder for home is complete {you should see the binder!}. Bills are paid. Appointments are made. Baby names are chosen. Etc. Etc.
Of course there are a few projects I never got around to tackling {my dressing room, the attic, old photos}, but the important stuff is done. My day-to-day routine with Buby and Bleu is as streamlined as ever. Everyone is healthy and playing nice and sleeping well. It's a good time to have a baby.
My goal after coming home is to keep things as normal as possible and to just enjoy every moment with all three wee ones. Wow, 3. I like the sound of that. And with my mom, who hasn't stayed with us since last March. I haven't slept this entire pregnancy, so I hardly doubt I'll be phased by the middle of night feedings. I'll let you know. And I suspect Buby and Bleu will be spellbound by our new addition, don't you?
I'm psyched to see how the next month unfolds. This weekend though will be all about pumpkin picking, costume ordering, a best friend's birthday, and thinking ahead to International Day at Buby's school. Will keep you updated. Promise.

* My Sweets walked out of our little backyard garden with 103 carrots in hand, plus two bowls full of tomatoes and peppers.
* He jarred his own pasta sauce. It's like nothing you've ever tasted.... hmmm.
* Our lovely neighbors moved away and instructed me to enjoy their cutting garden.
* Buby and Bleu walked an orchard and picked Red Delicious and Gala apples and Bosc pears. We've been slicing up the pears for dessert all week.
* Cupcakes from Crumbs Bake Shop. There were four, but I couldn't resist raspberry swirl.
