Hibernating

We're trying desperately to stay cool this week. It's no simple task with temperatures hovering around 100 degrees and only three small rooms {all on the third floor} equipped with air conditioning units. It's too humid for any of our usual outdoor adventures, unless of course you count skipping like fools over burning brick into the pool. {Preferred swim times are after breakfast and before bed.}

So... we've been carrying puzzles and games {like Jenga} up to Buby's room after our morning showers and hibernating for as long as we can stand it. Buby secretly loves this, since his room only sees books and stuffed animals in real life. I've also introduced the children to Eucerin hand and foot massages, and they are HOOKED.

Since Monday we've only opened the front door for mandatory errands {after 4pm} and poolside play dates with Bleu's posse of toddlers. That typically includes Ella, Ava, Kenny, Charles, Aja, the boys' baby brothers, and their moms. Always a nice way to spend two hours before dinner.

I cannot wait for heavy rains to come and break this heat though so we can get on with our summer. In between meal prep, cleanup and entertaining the wee ones I've started and stopped so many overdue interior projects. Mainly purging and organizing. That's what happens when we're stuck indoors. Frankly my to-do list is starting to scare me. And them. But it feels good to be nesting again.

Stay cool wherever you are.
