Inside The World's Largest...

Kaleidoscope.

My Sweets and I were itching for a lil' post t-ball adventure on Saturday afternoon, but it was too chilly for a proper hike. I couldn't decide which new childen's museum to try in the tri-state area, and then my friend Allison suggested this place. She hasn't been in 10 years but remembered it being cool. Indeed, it was kind of spectacular.

We walked inside the 60-foot-tall converted grain silo and immediately lied on our backs on the floor. The four of us were head to head when the lights dimmed and the music started playing. The 10-minute presentation was eye popping, artistic and cleverly incorporated major faces in U.S. history. {Buby asked My Sweets to cover his ears, but Bleu was mesmerized by the visual effects.}

The initial drive was over an hour from t-ball, and we did get a teeny bit lost in the mountains. But along the way we found a most delicious bread shop with a warm olive loaf, a random sculpture garden with dinosaurs and rusty pigs, and a Sonic drive-in--where I happily kicked off an obsession: the strawberry fresh fruit slush.

Totally worth it, if you ask me. I love Saturday spontaneity, don't you?
