Buby came back from school on Friday with this in his book bag. We walked in the house, and he immediately started packing his spare backpack full of favorite things: wooden trains, a magnifying class, dinosaurs, a kaleidoscope, and a handmade shaker.
I asked, "What are you doing, Bub?" He said it was for our next trip to Rochester. I told him that wasn't for another month or so and he replied, "That's okay, Mom. I'll just keep it here so it's ready." Monday morning during drop-off he whispered to me, "Mom, can you make sure Nola doesn't touch my backpack while I'm at school?"
Think he misses his cousins? I think so. And he's been talking about Grandpa's tractor even more than usual. By the way, I've never written out the word Rochester for him... so I love how he guessed.
