Buby, Bleu, Billy, and basketball.
My parents had us over for dinner twice before we continued north to Canada. My mom cooked up her famous mac + cheese, at my request. That poor woman is always trying to throw out new menu suggestions, seasonal recipes taken from magazines, and dishes she's dying to test out on someone other than my dad. But, alas, I insist on the same old. Every. Single. Time. What can I say? It's not home without my mom's mac + cheese.
Both nights my lil' brother came to play, which made me happy. Buby always adores his silly Uncle Billy, but this was a milestone trip for the Bleu girl. You know her strange fear of grown men? {Grandfathers, uncles, cousins, guys in the coffee shop} Well, after just a few hours in the company of my bro it seems she was able to let her guard down and have a grand old time... away from my hip.
Later in the week Bleu marched right up to Grandpa J's leg and asked for a hug. My Sweets + I were so flabbergasted we stopped talking to capture it on camera. She waved + smiled goodbye to my dad and even let Uncle Mike carrier her around the farm. For reals! This was a major breakthrough. So whatever your magic, Uncle Billy, thank you.
