Swim Fan

Bleu girl would be in our pool 24/7 if she had her way. She's obsessed with water. Funny, isn't it? This is the girl who traded in baths {for showers} and cried her way through her first swim lesson last winter. That phase passed with the blink of the eye though, and she's been obsessed with splishing and splashing ever since. Someday she'll be a fantastic swimmer. In the meantime, I'd love an ounce of that fear + hesitation back. But that's just not our 14-month Bleu. She's fearless in everything.

The design + layout of our pool area is awesome for entertaining adults, but it's sort of a child safety nightmare. There are simply too many points of entry too close to the house. We have all the baby proofing devices you could think of, but still the potential for an accident is always in my thoughts. Especially as guests come and go all summer, directly accessing our pool from both inside and outside the house where the kids play.

Bleu's had me in stitches lately. Whenever we're downstairs she marches into the bathroom {the one right near the pool door}, grabs her suit out of the bin, hands it to me, and points and grunts and moans until I say "What? You wanna go in?" Then she nods with a big smile. If we're dining alfresco she'll stand at the pool gate for an hour trying to master the lock.

When we do walk her out to the pool deck she tries to break free and jump in on her own. So opposite of our Buby. For this reason I feel nervous taking both wee ones in during the day when it's just me here. I do take Buby in anytime Bleu's napping, but Bleu may have to wait for Daddy.
