Friday night at Buby's school. It was so cool to see him on stage again. He worked hard on his four songs: "At the Zoo," "This is the Way," "The Woodpecker," and the school spirit song.
Twisted trousers! I'm told moments before the curtain opened Miss Cathy asked the class if anyone had to go potty. Buby darted out of line and emerged from the loo like this. Oh the pressure.
Buby is unsure about singing on stage in front of a crowd. Understandably. He's only 3. I'm going on 33 and I couldn't muster the courage. That said, one of the things he's really worked on this past year at school is stretching his comfort zones. He's done it on his own with no forcing, and it's wonderful to see the progress.
Buby attends an arty school, so the stage is used quite a bit as part of the hands-on learning, particularly in morning music.
We've seen him now in the winter concert, his first play, the spring sing, and in two weeks a talent show and moving up ceremony. I love to study his facial expressions right after a performance. He beams with pride + joy as he hops down the stairs.
Click to enlarge. This is the silliest photo of the night. Don't you want to know what each one is thinking? Missing: Buby's friends Dakota {cut off the end} and his girl Jenna.
Refreshments. Someone made an extravagant spring-themed chocolate pudding cake and fresh squeezed lemonade. Buby was over the moon.
