He Said

Buby is our resident hoser. He loves to water the garden for us.

On the car ride to school this morning.

Me: I think it's going to rain.

Buby: No. I don't want it to rain.

Me: Well, sometimes rain is a good thing.

Sometimes we need the rain.

Buby: But I want to go to the playground.

Buby {still}:
I know! I will point my hose up at the sky and water the sun. And make it all shiny and nice again, so it doesn't need to rain. I will water the trees and the flowers, too, and with water and sun and time they will grow.

Me: Oh, that's a sweet idea, Buby.

Buby:
I will make a drawing for the sun to make it happy. And then it won't rain. I will make one for the trees, too, and the flowers, too, because they will like that.

Me: Yes, they would like that. Because you do the best drawings.

I love listening to how their minds work. He looks so intense in that picture.
