~ Things I Love ~ Thursday

Here's to a new Thursday theme. Things I love. To look at. To listen to. To eat. To do. All sorts of randomness that makes me giddy in a day, I want to record it here once a week. Kind of a personal time capsule. Here's a few from today.

01. Buby's artwork. Particularly this family portrait he painted several months ago.

02. A small wooden sign I picked up for $1 at Michaels right before Bleu was born. I just LOVE the word LIVE. Almost as much as I love the word LOVE. It's in our playroom window, and I pause to stare at it several times a day. It reminds me that nothing is more important than now.

03. This chair we rescued from a curb in Queens back in 2000. I paint it all the time. It was dark blue, black, light blue, and now Martha Stewart's Tutu pink. It's surprisingly sturdy and comfy, and I sit in it every day.

04. Pretty paper + handwritten notes. I have no excuse not to put pen to paper more often. This lovely stationary bin sits two feet from my keyboard. It's one of my resolutions for '09.

05. Children's books. I read + appreciate them more now than I did as a child. I choose them over adult fiction or nonfiction. Over biographies. Dare I say... over magazines. I could lose many hours in a children's bookstore just reading, admiring, and critiquing the words and illos. Here are a few faves right now.

06. My Ecko Red bag. It made me crave yellow in the worst way, a color I never liked before. It has a red linen interior, holds ALL my stuff, and stays up even with 42 lbs of boy tugging at my right arm.

Great list. Love the yellow bag. All my shoulder bags have been put away...for who knows how long. I can't live without my Vera Bradley backpack. In fact I just upgraded to a large size one. I hated always having my bag slip down my arm while trying to wrangle two babies.
