Bowling

We took Buby bowling last Friday. Oh what fun! We've gone before, of course, but only a few times with the babes, and I doubt he remembered. The second we slipped on those retro red shoes we asked why on earth we don't do this more often? It's close to the house, no reservations required, $4.50 per game. Then My Sweets caught me spraying Lysol disinfectant on the ball return. There were people around. I think he was embarrassed. I threw a flirty smile his way and quick sprayed once more. Buby found the perfect 6 lb ball and discovered the art of tap dancing on the slippery floor. My Sweets demonstrated how to hold + release a ball, and Buby hung on his every word. After bowling a turn he'd stand absolutely still on the alley line watching the ball reach the pins. Only after it had all played out would he turn around and treat us to his reaction. It was a really good family night, and we'll do it again. Buby's high score was 71.

What a fun family outing! Buby looks very serious about his bowling.

That sounds like fun! We will have to try that soon. Although I am laughing about the can of lysol, did you bring that in with you or did they have it there?

Tiny bottle of Lysol Disinfectant Spray in Crisp Linen scent. I keep it in my purse. That's for spraying things like bowling ball holes... I hardly use it but I feel it neccessary to throw in the bag.

I keep a kid-friendly alcohol-free foam sanitizer in the cupholder in my car, and when I pick up Buby from school I squirt some in his hand before letting him snack. The germs they bring home from school... and not knowing how well they wash in the bathroom with us not there, yuck!!

Bowling is fun and inexpensive....I always forget about bowling. Parker has been once and our alley had these lightweight ramps you could put in front of the lane so all your toddler (I think he was just 1.5 at the time) has to do is walk up there and set their ball on it. It rolls down (VERY slowly) and usually knocks quite a few over. Bumpers are good too if you ask them to put them up.

Looks like Buby has it down!

71 is a very impressive score. He looks like a natural and it sounds like it will be a regular family outing. I used to bowl on a league with my mom and 2 sisters - did you even know that? It's when you and Mark were small and they had a babysitting program right at the bowling alley - that you loved to go to. I was never very good but it was a fun way to spend time with my family.

Sounds like so much fun. I think I know which bowling alley you went to...I'll have to ask you in person. That lysol sounds like a great little treasure. I need to find myself a can.
