I'm teaching it to Buby and he's teaching it to me. Every day we practice patience. At the playground recently we told Buby it was time to go and started walking across the lawn in the direction of the car. He didn't acknowledge us and instead hurried around to get in another bounce, slide, and swing. I whispered something to My Sweets about him not listening. And he replied "He hears you. He's registering it. He's coming. But you have to remember that every day right now is like the best day of his life." Just then I looked over at Buby giggling with all his heart... and running at full speed to join us.

It's amazing what children can teach us. I never had patience before Buby taught me its value.
Dad
Who are you kidding? You were always the most patient man I'd ever met. With yourself... with me... with us... and now with our children. When I'm not being patient I think to myself "What would Tom do right now?"
Ah, you guys are the cutest!!! That's a wonderful life lesson right there and what a sweet way to learn it! He's such a happy little man!
that's the secret to great parenting .. never forget what it felt like to be a kid .. all the good and the not so good .. it puts life into perspective .. well done son of mine .. you have always had such incredible insight,a soft heart and yes, patience most of the time!!! love you forever
What a lovely story and so true!!! It just takes a minute to step back and see something through someone else's eyes...excellent and very touching!!
I have zero patience. Maybe if I had the opportunity to hang with Buby more I would learn some, too. Love you all!!
I will have to remember that the next time I'm getting a little frustrated. Thank you.
