We hit the children's section of our public library at least once a week for a whole new set of characters, adventures and life lessons. I try to sneak in a first day of school book each visit so that Buby gets more okay with the idea of me leaving and him staying {21 days left, gulp}. This week we returned:
- Up Goes Mr. Downs by Jerry Smath
- If You Give a Pig a Pancake by Laura Joffe Numeroff
- If You Throw a Pig a Party by Laura Joffe Numeroff
- First Day by Dandi Daley Mackall
- Who Bop? by Jonathan London
And checked out {in 2 trips}:
- Someday by Alison McGhee and Peter H. Reynolds
- Cookies: Bite-Size Life Lessons by Amy Krouse Rosenthal
- Come with Me to Nursery School by Edith Thacher Hurd
- Bounce by Doreen Cronin and Scott Menchin
- A Book of Friends by Dave Ross
- How Do Dinosaurs Eat Their Food? by Jane Yolen
- Easy as Pie by Marcia and Michael Folsom
- Minnie and Moo Go Dancing by Denys Cazet
- Knock Knock! Who's There? by Tad Hills
Buby's top picks in this batch are highlighted. Our village library is part of a 48-library network, so I put in a special request for several titles we crave {more from Krouse Rosenthal and Yolen} that they don't have in stock. They'll be in next week. Yippie!!

I can't wait to put my library card to work when the girls are older! We might even register for the free story time at the local library after they turn two!
