Old Photo Friday

Our house. Circa 1867. This photo sits in a little black frame on our built-in bookshelves. It has been passed down for generations to each new owner on their move-in day. For us that was May 17, 2005. The house was emptied and swept and this photo waiting on the fireplace mantel. The charm and detailing of our old house remain intact, though it has gotten larger over the years. The entire basement was finished into a kitchen, dining and living area. Also added: A "summer" kitchen, 3rd bathroom, 4th bedroom, walk-in closet, a sizable bump-out to the master bedroom, {now Buby + Bleu's playroom}, a deck, brick patio, in-ground pool, yard, and barn/garage out back. Each owner has left their mark, including us. It seems we are always working on the place. But it is HOME and we love it. Someday we'll have to leave this photo on the fireplace, too.

That is such a wonderful little tradition! I love it...how many owners have there been? Sounds like an enchanting place...
