What a supercool Sunday. We attended Touch-A-Truck, a hugely successful charity fundraiser for The United Way. A few thousand people came out. {From the looks of it, every family in the state with a boy under 10.} This event was any Little Dude's dream. Kids were not only allowed but encouraged to crawl into the cabs, honk the horns, jump on the trailers, even stand on the roofs of every vehicle there. Good for the imagination. Of course, my first thought was "how do I make it clear to Buby that this is not normally allowed?" Anyway, there were construction rigs, a UPS truck, a firetruck, motorcycles, ambulances, a school bus, a sanitation truck, a bulldozer, tractors, a Jeep, a Hummer, race cars, Mack trucks. You name it and Buby was all over it.
Buby + I waited in line to climb into this trillion ton "materials processor." Just like every parent/child combo before us. But as soon as I sat my butt down the cylinder unjammed and began to rotate. We grabbed on. People cheered. Yep, I moved the unmovable with nothing but my body weight. Not exactly a new-mom ego booster. Ha!
There's a new sheriff in town.
The one thing Buby wasn't able to climb. Believe me, he asked.
I was afraid he'd get in and never get out.
Go Buby!!
The race car was definitely a highlight.
That is, until he saw the Hummer.
The only way I could get him out of there was to distract him with the gift bag he got for being one of the first 1,000 children in the gate. It had an orange lollipop in it. And until now, Buby thought lollipops were only for GIRLS. Don't ask. I did not tell him this.
For Uncle Mike.

Monsterous wheels! Looked like a fun day!
A dream day for Buby. I'm sure he'll be talking about this constantly.
SOOOOO... sorry we missed this. It would have been right up BP's alley. Next year. Looks like Buby had the time of his life!
I will have to ask him all about it on Friday.
Forget Disney World. What a happy kid he musta been that whole day (except when you tried to get him out of the vehicles...)
Actually, we were amazed with him. He didn't fuss at all about getting off things or moving to the next or waiting in lines or leaving at the end. No negotiating neccessary. Leaving places is often the hardest thing for Buby. But he was soooooo grownup at Touch-A-Truck.
