This is how Buby spent much of yesterday morning. Dumping plastic Easter eggs from his big orange bucket onto the playroom floor, counting aloud, oohing at all the colors, and then scooping them back up with his mini fishing net. We were home sick, but I think Buby was too preoccupied to notice we had missed his favorite class. I'd love to keep these in his playroom year round, but won't that make Easter less exciting for him next year? Perhaps just until summer.

Love the orderly eggs! I think Easter will be just as Egg-citing next year if you keep the eggs out...after all it's the thrill of the hunt, right?? Plus, there are so many designs of plastic eggs- next year you could have tie dye!
Get well soon!!
This is a great activity. There are so many things you can teach with plastic eggs. Colors, counting, patterns, etc. He is so neat and organized! I wonder where he gets that from???
Such a great picture. He really is so organized. I'm very impressed! Agree that you need to put them away in order to keep the specialness for next year. Like the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. It's so true.
Did Buby line them up by color too?
I see OCD runs in the family...
We use the plastic eggs in the sandbox, or for water play in the kiddie pool or bath tub. If they have holes in them, they make excellent bug holders. They are excellent for "Huckle Buckle Beanstalk!" because of their unique shape and color. And there's nothing like an "ordinary" snack concealed in pastel plastic. The possibilities are endless!
He sorted them by color first and then started counting.
