The Birds

I snapped these shots Friday afternoon, and they don't even begin to express what Buby + I saw with our eyes. We were in the playroom when he jumped up and yelled "OH NO!" The sound was an ear-piercing screech xs 1,000. Birds--bazillions of birds--were swarming our backyard at once. Behind our barn garage is about a dozen massive bare trees, and now every branch on every tree was covered in black birds. We watched in awe from the window. Was this a sign? Perhaps I've seen Hitchcock too many times, but we would be staying inside the rest of the day!

Oh my goodness!! I just had the same thing happen here earlier this week- I first saw ALL THE BLACK BIRDS out of the corner of my eye and when I turned to look I thought something was really wrong outside! Then before long they took off in a massive heard of birds!!!!! Call me wimpy but it was a scary sight!!

I LOVED the pictures. Could you tell if they were Red-winged Blackbirds, or the everyday variety?

Wonderful blog.

That's kind of spooky! Found out one of my friends lost her husband to a heartattack this week, my heart is just breaking for her, he was only 29. And Greg and I were just sitting here thinking how hard it is to believe that his dad is gone :( Oh the hearthache! How you are you doing my dear friend? How are you feeling??? I'm constantly thinking about you guys! Love and hugs

Aren't they starlings? The little ones that swarm and swoop together, like lemmings with wings? Every time I see them while I'm driving, I am thankful that I don't get into a car accident, because I cannot look away. There's something hypnotic about their movements.
Or it could be a murder of crows...

I think they came here after stopping at your house. Definitely kind of creepy.
