Seven Things I Love

felt heart from etsy

01. my every day. growing up, i never imagined my day could be so full of experiences, challenges, and a million mini moments i never want to forget. but it is. i never imagined i was capable of giving and receiving THIS much love in a day. but i am. so that's what i hold most dear... waking up in the morning and thinking 'how can i make today a little extra special for buby?' that's my favorite job. i'm so lucky to be able to watch my son grow into his own these early years, to share these moments with My Sweets, and then to bring our daughter into this world with 2 amazing men at her side.

02. travel. new places. textures. terrain. languages. people. the unknown.

03. being outside. it doesn't matter that we're laying in the grass, jumping in puddles or eating snow flakes, fresh air + sun = happiness.

04. food. seriously, i'm always thinking of the next thing i'm going to eat. i obsess over food and could easily eat any guy under the table.

05. working. i've been working since i was 15 and take great pride in things i put my name on. seeing a project, however big or small, through from start to finish gives me so much satisfaction. i don't like to disappoint.

06. watching buby watch the older kids at his preschool visit today. the wonder in his eyes. the wheels turning. the heart filling with joy as they invited him to play the drums and he kindly accepted.

07. conversations with buby. i whisper "Guess what?" and he whispers back "I LOVE YOU" in my ear. that's our thing. i love when buby says "NO, I DO IT" or "I HELP!" in the same breath as "MAMA, FIX IT!" or "MAMA, PICK ME UP!" i embrace the independence and the clingyness. he's sort of in between baby and little man right now, and it's cool to see him balance the two.

Thank you for tagging me to write this Allison. You know I love lists. Debbie, Melissa, and Maria... consider yourselves tagged. If you so desire.

Great list. Very well thought out. You make me laugh with the food...about eating more than a guy. And working...I like what you wrote. Agree with you on the satisfaction and needing to do a good job.

I have always loved the way you write and your ability to put your thoughts so beautifully into words. You should write books for everyone to enjoy. Buby and Tom are lucky to have you in their life but I'm the luckiest of all since I've known you the longest. You have always been my favorite daughter!
