From Buby With Love
One of the best parts of my December was watching Buby make ornaments for others. I worried he'd tire of crafting. Not a chance. Still Buby tugs at my shirt every morning and says something like "GLITTER GLUE, MAMA?" He's really into it, so I just provide the supplies and let him do his thing. Beautifying raw wood ornaments {cheap from Michael's} is totally something an art-savvy 2-year-old can handle on their own. I set up our art quarters {really a master bath with tile floors, a step stool, and a tub for washing} with paint brushes, paint, squeezable glitter glue, paper towel, and a glass of water for dipping... and then stepped back. We went through A LOT of brushes. As much as Little Dude loves his large-scale abstracts, he doesn't like to get his fingers dirty. Never has. So even with finger paints, he squeezes them directly onto the canvas and then uses a brush. With glitter glue, he either squeezes dots, drizzles or paints it on. Every ornament is an original. Here's a small sampling.
