Happy Weekend

I'm up to my eyebrows in red, white, and blue. Stars and stripes. Americana galore. And so are our neighbors. Our village celebrates its rich history every September with a one-day festival which includes a pancake breakfast, an 8k race that we cheer on from our porch, a parade with floats, crafts and food, live music from several bandstands, pony rides, a petting zoo, a ginormous book sale at the library, artists performances, old-fashioned lemonade stands, a soapbox derby, a puppet show, a horse crap shoot, AND {most fabulous of all} fireworks in the park at sunset. All walkable. Not crazy different from what we do every weekend, except this one's on OUR turf. Two years ago, I was a million months pregnant with Buby on festival day. He came two days later. So lucky Buby gets his Birthday BBQ and all the rest as bonus. He's going to think those fireworks are all for HIM. Grandma and Grandpa will be here when we return from Playdate Friday at Gilly's house this afternoon. Yippie! Pictures on Monday!!
