Dancing in the Street

this weekend...

i love the sight of: my boys dancing in the street, delicate leaves drizzling down from the trees, hay mazes and scarecrows {fall is my season}, buby sporting his wild orange wig and laughing at himself in the mirror, roadside farm stands, the irish jig, horses, my sweets on his motorcycle
i love the sound of: dan zanes singing "jump up" on repeat, buby calling "mommydaddy" from his crib when he first wakes up {as if he knows it's saturday and we're both here}, birds chirping outside every window, firetrucks in the parade {yes, there was another parade and three more festivals this weekend--all within 5 minutes of the house}
i love the scent of: bright green pickles, cool september breezes, fried dough stands, grapefruit juice, and a fresh-mowed lawn {i will miss this scent}
i love the taste of: bagels toasted just right with butter, concord grapes, sweet corn on the cob, mini boxes of strawberry nerds thrown from floats {i admit, i ran into the street with all the other kids to rescue the candy from puddles}, mango banana smoothies at home
i love the feel of: sitting on the shady porch of a {new to us} restaurant eating warm corn chowder, closing our pool for the season and planning out all the apple festivals and pumpkin patches we'll visit in the coming weeks {we do A LOT of pumpkins}, being able to iron dress shirts for the week, fold laundry, and clean up the kitchen all during buby's nap

This is a good post...I have much to say here...

I'm looking forward to seeing Buby in that orange wig I've heard so much about! The Irish jig...I wish I knew how to do it! Dan Zanes is a big hit around here, too. Nobody calls for MommyDaddy upon waking...it's a full-blown scream with real tears! Loved the pickles and concord grapes at the Harvest Fest. Keep me posted on your pumpkin events. And I really have nothing to say about getting work done during a nap. What nap? 30 minutes? An hour? Oh, wait, Buby takes LONG naps! Ha!

Fall is my favorite season too. I love the smell of apple pie baking in the oven and eating home made stew. The colors of fall are so warm and even though it's sad to see the leaves fall, it feels like the beginning of something great. I miss carving pumpkins and baking the seed with my kids and the candy swap after trick or treating is done.
