Petal Boating

On Sunday we took Grammy DJ and Buby petal boating at the park. Every time we pass the pond on our way to the playground Buby asks to go boating, so it was about time we did. I picked up a life jacket for him at Gander Mountain the night before {Fyi: I found Type I or Type II with the neck rest are the best for keeping baby face up in an emergency}. In the afternoon before leaving for the park, Buby and Daddy practiced with the life jacket in our pool. Buby is a fish in water, likes to kick kick kick and paddle paddle paddle. Mr. Independent all the way {until he gets a boo boo, that is, and just wants his Mama}, so we thought he might fight us on the Spidey flotation vest. We were wrong. He loves it! Grammy DJ and I dipped our feet in the water while Daddy and Buby practiced back floating and trust exercises. When I heard Daddy say, "Sweetie, when you're ready, you can let go of me, but I'll never just let go of you," I almost cried.
