Buby reached a major milestone this week... his first trip to the Bronx Zoo. He's been to many a nature preserve, farm, and petting zoo in the past. But this is the cream of the crop, surely one of the best places on earth to bring children. I've been dozens of times, so it was about time 22-month-old Buby experienced it himself.
Graga was there to witness Buby's wide eyes and enthusiastic gallop from one exhibit to the next. We gazed in awe at the lively birds, baboons, giraffes, monkeys, mice, tigers, sea lions, bears, deer, flamingos, gorillas, ostriches, red pandas, snakes, storks, wallabies, and more. After all day there, we STILL were not able to find the elephants, crocodiles, wild horses, kangaroos, or zebras. Oh well. Buby was in a stellar mood the entire time even though he missed his nap and absolutely had every right to be crankers.
His favorite part? Hmmm. Tough to say. Possibly the Mouse House. Here are some of our fave shots at the Bronx Zoo. All taken by moi on July 3, 2007.

The elephants have been moved to the Asia exhibit so the only way to see them is to take the monorail. When we took Lillian in April we told her we were going to see elephants, she signed it all day long but the monorail wasn't running yet so we never saw them either.
Buby looks like he was mesmerized by the gorillas!
