More lovely old photos from that visit with my Mom. My parents wed on June 15, 1974. Aren't they the dashing duo? This series is one of my favorites. B & B were married in a church in front of no more than 50 of their closest friends and family. My mom owned a tiny Pinto at the time, so they borrowed my Uncle Gary's shiny black Cadillac and decorated it to the nines. It looked beautiful, my mom laughs now. Of course, it poured while they were in the church and everything washed off the car. Flowers, writing, all of it. Then the horn malfunctioned and distracted the ceremony. Their friend Mike was running late and disconnected the horn on his way in. After the ceremony, my mom says they drove around silently with nothing to honk. And the car looked like it did any other day of the week. More bits from their blissful day:

Weather: rainy (just like my wedding day)
Dress: white organza. she finally threw it away last year... it was all yellow
Flowers: roses, mostly white with yellow to match my grandpa's shirt (snazzy!)
Reception: my grandparents' house, where some tuxes went into the pool
Cake: fancy. many layers with a fountain in the middle (eek!)
Special: my mom borrowed her mother's ring (just like i did)

I really like these. My favorite is Royal and Marion. Royal is such a cool name!
I'm named after that grandma and my little brother Billy is named after that grandpa. Billy swears he's going to name his son Royal one day... just yesterday my mom and I were joking how much Billy loves his name. Ha!
