Repeat After Me
Buby has turned into our own little parrot. Buby Land's pet parrot. Early last month (at 20 months) he started to repeat after us, and now it has escalated to hilarious proportions. If the mood strikes, he echoes just about everything we say. We didn't exactly expect this, as Buby was more the Strong Silent Type, only speaking when he had something to say. Like his Daddy. But as of late, we have a full-blown gibber-jabber toddler in the house, and we're relishing every unanticipated syllable that flows from those cute puckery lips of his.
Thursday mornings are when we shop for groceries. Up and down every aisle, I named key items on the shelves and everything we loaded into our cart. Buby repeated after me. At the fruit stand, I filled a plastic bag with three small grapevine tomatoes. Buby leaned over and grabbed a ginormous tomato, maybe the largest I've ever seen. It was clear he wanted to take THIS tomato home. I whispered under my breath, "Oh that's a big one honey." He shouted back "BEEG TOMATO!" I tried to reason with him, "How about we take the three smaller tomatoes instead?" He replied, "TWEE BEEG TOMATO!" He had the lady next to us in stitches. She said, "I understood every word of that." Okay, you're way too cute. You win.

Sounds like a tomato plant is in order for Buby's Garden. And give it some growth hormones to make some real BEEG ones!
