There is an exquisite cardinal who has found a home here in Buby Land. Cardinal lives with his family in our biggest tree, which isn't very big at all. We're happy to catch any glimpse of him. He flies from the tree to our fence post and back to the tree again. Like he's head of security on lookout. Cardinal has little ones. Sadly, on Wednesday a baby chick fell from the tree and didn't make it. I'm relieved Buby wasn't watching then, but his daddy was and had the unpleasant task of moving the chick. It's heartbreaking and hopefully won't happen again. The last two years our patio tree was home to another kind of bird. Who made the best little chirpy sounds in the morning but left the entire patio covered in bird doo doo by the afternoon. Since the cardinal took over residence this year, no doo doo. He really is a beautiful creature.
