So Buby Land is near a county airport, which boasts this delish little runway cafe with burgers, fries, beer (I know... I had the same thought). Buby & Co. occasionally orders take-out and sits on a picnic table in back of the cafe to watch the planes take off and land. The other night we got there 1/2 hour before close and were the only ones around. It was a brisk evening but most exquisite as the sun set. Buby ran around in circles in the unmowed green grass, arms straight out, flying his imaginary airplane. Sounds effects and all. (By all, I mean grilled cheese sandwich in his right hand.) I really wish I could've captured that Mama Moment and put it bug box or something for future use. Our Buby may still be Buby, but he's no Baby anymore. Nothing tickles the heart like watching your kid do something for the first time. Planes are just the latest of Buby's transportation cravings. First it was trains. Choo Choo!! Choo Choo!! Cue hand motion. Then it was--and still is--motorcycles. Vroom!! Vroom!! Cue hand motion and loud "DADDY" chants. Buby thinks all things motorcycle belong to his Dada. Now planes. I explain how Granny DJ works on a plane, and how Captain Tom drives one. We listen to a song about Pilot Paula on our Little People Things That Go CD every trip we take in the car. You know it? It's sweet.

Grace and I frequented that cafe last year. Isn't it great to live near such a cool little place?
Gillian is obsesseed with planes too! Her Daddy and Grandpa love it because they both are pilots...
We'll have to meet there for lunch with Buby and the girls!
