Buby Land in Bloom

These photos were taken by moi at 7:45PM last night. Buby Land is officially IN BLOOM. Buby & Co. is involved in what some might dub 'extreme gardening,' and by no fault of our own. Okay, a little fault of our own. We did add 25+ patio containers to an already high-maintenance landscape we adopted when we purchased Buby Land--a modest vintage abode on an even more modest plot--two years ago this month. It takes at least an hour to water the plants every night before bed. Inevitably something needs to be weeded, watered, mowed, deadheaded, swept, stabilized, transplanted, edged, or mulched around here in the summertime. But it's almost worth it: The payoff is the most magnificent show of color, texture, and scent in succession from spring through late fall. As I eagerly await my fuchsia roses and blue hydrangeas, I gaze admiringly at the stately tulips, hyacinths, dahlias, and gerberas that grace our place now. And remember back when we lived in the city and just wished for a patch of grass to sit on.

I truly admire your dedication to the flowers. I wish I had it in me.
