Buby & Co. adores the lovely hand stitched ornament Granny DJ made for Buby's Easter Tree. Says "God Bless Gavin" and is dated and signed on back. Thanks Granny!
Who ever thought a scrawny fake potted tree would bring so much joy to Buby Land? It started as Buby's Christmas Tree--one he could actually TOUCH, since the big tree was more or less off limits. Every morning first thing, Buby would run up to the tree and wait for me to plug it in. It was a big ritual. He knew the ornaments were all his and clapped the moment they lit up. In January the ornaments were packed away but the twinkle lights remained (romance factor). It became the Love Tree at Valentines, the Irish Tree in March, and here we are going ga-ga over hanging eggs and bunny ears. Can't wait for the American Tree in summer (seriously--already found the trimmings--you know how patriotic Tom is). Then it's all about Birthdays, Pumpkins, and Turkeys from there. Oh my! Growing up, my mom always made holidays cool with her funny, memorable little traditions, and I hope to do the same for Buby.
Now if only I could learn to stitch, crochet, knit, or even sew on a machine for that matter. I'll do anything! It seems my mom and I are both missing that seam gene (remember the badges on my brownie sash?) Borrowed Granny DJ's tiny Tailor machine a few months back to learn on, and, let's just say, Buby went to his Chinese New Year Party with his pants rolled under. It was a mess.
