My Little Red Wagon

Radio Flyer Pathfinder Wagon, around $70

Buby's groundbreaking wagon ride

Like father like son. Both boys turn at a motorcycle's roar

It was a very welcome 75 degrees here on Buby's home turf, so we made our way up, down and all around our little village. I'm seriously in lust with where we live. Which is a happy accident, since one would expect such abrupt transition from city to country (2 years ago on May 20th) would be at least a smidgen painful. It's not Greenwich Village, but as small-town villages go, ours is pretty sweet. Within a few blocks walking, we have 4 fine dining restaurants (I mean FINE), 3 deli and convenience stores, a diner, a bread & bakery, 3 pizza joints, 2 quaint coffee shops (I alternate), a pub (that's actually kid-friendly with delish food and outdoor seating), a martini bar with live music on weekends, many many antique shops, 2 banks, a custom-framing shop, an auction house, a dry cleaners/chic boutique combo, a chocolatier, 2 gifty retailers, a bridal shop, a florist, an independent pharmacy, a barber, AND a salon. Need I say more?

Okay. We also have several parks in the area, one right across the main street with stroller trails and swings and a baseball field and tennis courts and kids rides. Plus, a picnic area, quiet riverfront for impromptu fishing, a library (with reading hour for ages 3+), 2 senior centers, 2 charming B&Bs, a fireman's museum (yup!), AND lovely 18th- and 19th-century houses with big porches (and we're big on porches). So yeah, we like our little village.

So Buby took his spanking new Radio Flyer Pathfinder Wagon (thanks to Granny) for its inaugural spin. Two seats, cup holders, seat belts, the works! Opted against canopy for storage reasons, but Buby wears hats and always sunscreen. He sat back and relished the scenery, the flowers beginning to bloom, the fresh air hitting his rosy cheeks. What a life our Buby leads!

Breaking news: Buby switched from Dada to DaddY. And Mama to MommY. Not sure what prompted.
