Cape May Beach
A few notes:
- Our hotel was in the best location along Beach Avenue. We'd stay there again, despite all the mixed reviews going in. I'll explain in a separate post.
- Bleu packed an arsenal of pretty bathing suits {thanks, Grace!}, but after Wednesday all she wanted to wear on the beach were her day clothes. Soaking wet day clothes.
- Sand castles are more difficult than they look.
- The upside down volcanoes and dams were genius.
- Massive bubbles on the beach are awesome, but those wands malfunction quickly.
- Bleu always had sand in her hair.
- Buby never had sand in his hair.
- Bear usually had sand stuck to his face.
- Every day around 3pm I put My Sweets and Ollie Bear down for their beloved naps and tip-toed out with the older children to splash and dig.
- Every evening between 5:30 + 6pm my boys would come looking for us, all refreshed.
- We saw more jelly fish in one day than I've seen my entire life.
- I collected at least as many shells and stones as last year.
- None of our children like to don bathing suits still damp from the day before.
- I packed at least two suits per person, more for Bleu.
- Mini golf was always on the brain, even as Buby screeched joyously in the tides.
- Bleu refused to wear anything on her feet while walking across scorching hot sand.
- I had 5 bottles of sunblock: Kids body, baby body, kids/baby face, adult body, adult face.
- Nobody got burned this time. Not even me.
- Buby meets friends so easily. He had a ton of buddies... at the beach, at the pool.
- Bear loved the beach, loved the pool, loved the whole thing. He was a gem.
- Can't wait for next year.
