Thank you to Grammy DJ for sending up some new Spookley books last week. Buby has read them both many times through. Truth be told, his favorite part of the pumpkin patch stories are the apples in the kids' gift baskets, but he does love that little square pumpkin! We looked for one but weren't successful. We have six small round pumpkins instead. One of my favorite things to do around any holiday is to cuddle up in bed with Buby and read these themed books. He has stories relating specifically to Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Fourth of July, and Halloween. Then we can walk around the village {which is always decorated} and see the images really come to life!

Your little village is always so beautifully decorated for the holidays. What are you doing for Halloween next week?
Our village shuts down to traffic from 6-8 every Halloween, so the kids can walk in the street. I love that there's an END time, too, so you can turn your light off and don't have teenagers knocking at 10pm. Good Housekeeping will be here doing a photo shoot right up until I take Buby trick-or-treating. And they'll need a portrait of all three of us, so it'll be crazy trying to look "pretty" and then quick get Buby dressed up to walk the street. And then quick get back here to pass out candy. But I'm looking forward to it. You guys will be at the lake?
