Here we are on an air boat ride through the Everglades. It was cool. LOUD, but Buby didn't mind at all with those ginormous headphones on. Ha! We sat in the front row, and our guide found us a perfect Mr. Alligator to gawk at. We pulled right up to him and shut off the engine. I guess another 1/2 mile out the gators disappear when they hear boats. But this area of water is frequented by hardcore fishermen types who feed the alligators. So Mr. Alligator was not shy... he slithered right up to the side of the boat near Daddy. I was a tad worried about lost limbs, but everyone behaved themselves. Look at these pics!

The guide says Mr. Alligator was about 10 or 11 feet long.

This is the kind of boat we were on.
Buby played a little musical chairs during the air boat ride. He started out between me and Daddy and ended up between Grammy DJ and T.G. After the ride we went right up to snakes, a Florida panther, a baby tiger, baby alligators, crocodiles, vultures, huge iguanas, wild turkeys, pigs, enormous turtles, etc. It was like a wild zoo with fewer barriers.

Alligators!!!!! Scary!!!!! Glad you all returned home with 2 arms and 2 legs each :)
What a great experience. We went on a gator tour in the Everglades about ten years ago. I didn't like the boat ride at all, so I totally hear your concerns about lost limbs!
