Salon Style
Oops. I focused on close Bleu instead of mirror Bleu, but you get the idea.
This afternoon we visited Danielle. She cuts hair for our entire family, and the children adore her. I went for myself on Saturday, and Buby and Bleu have been begging for trims ever since. Though I like long flowy hair on boys and girls, it turns out my little ones prefer SHORT SHORT. And I learned my lesson last summer.

Buby's Rainbows
He makes these abstract rainbows and leaves them all over the house. He doesn't feel the need to incorporate every color, and he always adds a layer of black. I love that.

Good Morning, Bleu
~ Photos taken today at 7:37 a.m.
~ Nobody does bed head like Bleu.
~ Our girl is always the last to rise.
~ She saw the pictures and asked, "What's in my hair, Mama?"
~ Yes, that is a tutu. And yes, she slept in it. Our tomboy.
~ Those are indeed an old set of train jammies destined for the attic.
~ She likes to pick through her big brother's closet in her spare time.
~ Sometimes I'm all about rules and reg. Sometimes I just roll with it.

Craft Source
I promised the kiddos I would make dream catchers with them but didn't have any yarn or time to stop by the craft store before school pickup. It was grocery day, and I noticed a dollar store in the same plaza. We peeked inside just to see.
Amazingly, my girl and I happened upon an array of pretty yarns and boucles. We spent $5 total and walked out with three different types of crafting thread, a box of pastel beads, and a walnut-hued woven basket to hold our greeting cards for the year. Score!

Dream Catchers
Here are the paper plate dream catchers the children made today after school. I hung them in their room at bedtime. It was a simple, fun craft and a lesson in cutting, hole punching, threading, and storytelling.
Note: Before we started I asked both kids about their fears, if any. Buby responded, "Spiders, snakes, and erupting volcanoes." Bleu answered, "Crocodiles, Mother Gothel {from Tangled}, and when Jazzy {our dog} jumps on the couch."

The Last Two Weeks
I can't seem to stay awake to post anymore. I have felt head-to-toe tired, and there's no reason. Everyone in the house is healthy, the kids are sleeping well, and our routine isn't any more packed than usual. PLUS, I had my mom here all week to entertain and assist {which she did ten-fold}.
You'd think I would be crazy energized, but instead I'm snoozing alarms, dragging my feet, and dozing off while reading bedtime books to Buby and Bleu. I wake up with a book in my lap, a nursing baby in my arms, and a whole late-night agenda to go.
So while I have not listened to voice mails, responded to emails or blogged much in two weeks, I am thoroughly enjoying playtime with our little tribe and doing my best to conquer the 6 Cs of my life this season: commuting, classes, cooking, cleaning, creating, and counting blessings.
Some visual reminders of now.
1. I'm so glad these two are still friends. Five years later.
2. Colorful bouquet from Buby after his workday adventure in the city.
3. Paper rainbow + Starbucks straw = cool birthday banner.
1. Ollie will be 5 months. He's the jolliest old soul. Every minute with him feels like a gift.
1. Bleu girl making oatmeal/cranberry/peanut butter/chip cookies with Grandma.
1. "Magical" necklace making with G. Buby and Bleu went on to make several others.
1. Buby is all about patterns. 2. Ollie drools now. 3. Bleu takes so much pride.
1. Bleu's weekly lunch out with her two favorite ladies.
1. Marshmallow building with the kiddos. I first saw the idea here.
1. Running wild at our favorite nature conservatory.
1. Watching two brown bears with Grandma.
1. The awesomest carousel. I can't wait for Ollie's turn.
1. St. Patrick's celebration in G's hood. The kids were the parade.
1. Wanting for Spring.
1. Must-have: Bubble refills.
1. One clue that Grace was over: A massive fort.
1. Water. Fountain. Obsessed. Bleu assists E. after gymnastics class.
1. Tricycles and tennis in the snow.
1. Buby's baby doll in Bleu's carrier. She has become quite the nurturer.
