Christmas Eve {for us}

December 22. Last day of school. Bake for Santa. Spread reindeer food out back. Attend birthday for Buby's classmate. Have the best time watching my three let loose with their pals. Shop for Christmas jammies. Happiness. Home late. Stories. Anticipation. Good night for them. Long night for us. Assemble. Inflate. Wrap. Sparkle. Sleep.

Ornament Project 2011

Here's a sneak peek at Buby and Bleu's ornaments this year. They started with one multi-color ball of yarn and a handful of plastic globes. The rest of the supplies we already had, including clear glue, jewel-toned glitter, and water balloons for the hallow spheres.

Teacher Gifts 2011

Today the kiddos and I delivered 6 small teacher gifts. They were very simple {in thought and execution}, but I still like how they turned out.
Each wooden basket included a handmade ornament and thank-you note by Buby and Bleu, a jar of yummy chocolate-chip-almond granola I made the night before, and a gift certificate to our village coffee shop, which is also right next to the school.
The reason we did 6 baskets is because Buby and Bleu each have two full-time teachers, plus the directress of the school, plus the art teacher they share on Wednesdays. We did not do an official holiday gift for Buby's Monday art teacher or for the Tuesday music/piano teacher simply because they weren't ready in time.

Quick Friday in the City

Grand Central Station, walk to Rock Center, bagels, coffee, cut through Bryant Park, put ice rink on list for next time, kiddie party at Daddy's work, face painter/magician extraordinaire, meet new friends, black olive pizza, catch train home for Gallery Night.
All three children did an amazing job on the train, in the office, and walking around town on such a cold and windy day. Ollie was a happy playing maniac all afternoon, and the second I put him in the Ergo to walk to the train he passed out and slept on me for almost two hours. I could not have planned it any better.
