Photo taken on Father's Day 2010. We followed My Sweets on his motorcycle to a strawberry pancake breakfast up in the mountains and then proceeded to fish and play in the nearby river. We were probably there a few hours. Who knows.
Bleu couldn't wait to flip off her dress and water shoes and go au naturel. She was picking up bugs and chasing tadpoles and loving every wet, messy minute of it. Buby mostly stayed clothed and dry. Per usual. He built a small rock and stick structure on top of a boulder and used a homemade fishing pole. My Sweets fly fished up to his waist.
Then we ended up at our best new brick oven pizza joint, Benji + Jakes. It's totally not convenient, and totally worth it! This was our second time, and I think we'll go a lot more this summer. {I have a photo of My Sweets on his bike... hold on.}
Four different families told us we had to go to this zoo about 20 minutes from our hotel. As soon as we arrived we understood why. The grounds are beautiful and spacious. The zoo is free {though we donated}. And the animals...

We spent many an afternoon on the beach with the kids... jumping waves, digging "sand wells," and running from massive jelly fish. But my fave times to walk the shore were around 9 a.m. {during our morning coffee/bagel run} and after dinner. So beautiful.
Here we are on Friday... making our way to Coffee Tyme on Beach Avenue.

Buby is experimenting this week... with pigtails.
Happy birthday to our 9-year-old niece. We love you.
They took turns waking up first, sneaking out of bed--away from their snoozing sibling--and prancing into our room {around 8:30 or 9} to whisper me "Good morning, Mommy, I'm hungry."
It was such a pleasant way to kick things off. And so was Buby offering the last blueberry to his sister without as much as a nod from us. That afternoon brought a mix of whining and scraped knees, so the slow morning was nice.
